PDP hails Drabu's Budget for JK, 'Terms it Common Man's budget with relief for all' | KNO

Jammu, Jan 11 (KNO) : The ruling Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday hailed the budget announcements made by the state finance ministerHaseeb Drabu in legislative assembly, terming it a big sigh of relief for the marginalized and unrepresented class of the state. PDP's Srinagar district president and Upper House member of the state legislature, Mohammad Khurshid Alam in a statement said the budget presented by the finance minister was much needed as it has all the contents that could benefit the common masses across Jammu and Kashmir. "From industrialists to houseboat owners and from daily wagers to state government employees, the budget has adopted the most human approach in addressing the woes of the common man living in the state," Alam said in a statement. He added that while the previous regimes in the state were coercing its employees to hit the streets for their rights, the present government has accorded all benefits to its employees without prejudice and partiality. "The implementation of 7th pay commission will be a major achievement of the government as unlike the previous governments, this regime didn’t compel its employees to hit streets for their demands. Further the financial assistance given to Kashmir's arcticians will make the industry flourish. For the student community, it is a big relief that education loans available from banks have the repayments deferred till completion of course as the interest during the moratorium period has been back-breaking for the students hailing from poor background,"Alam. The PDP leader added that covering the transgender community of the state under BPL is a landmark decision and taken while keeping in consideration the hardships being faced by such community in the state. Alam added that the state would new horizons of development and peace as the present government is leaving no stone unturned to accorded due rights to all the people living in Jammu and Kashmir.(KNO)
